Did dinosaurs go extinct millions of years ago? Did birds evolve from dinosaurs? Follow along as your tour guide explains from science and Scripture that dinosaurs did not go extinct millions of years ago, but were on the Ark with Noah, and were seen by Job after the flood, and even Marco Polo just 800 years ago.

Dinosaurs and the Scripture

Did you know that a dinosaur similar to, or maybe the brachiosaurus itself, was mentioned in the bible?!

15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. 16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. 17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

Job 40:15-17

What type of large creature has a tail so big that it moves it like a tree? This certainly doesn’t apply to an elephant or a hippo! However, it would apply to the sauropod-type of dinosaur such as a brachiosaur or diplodocus.

One might wonder why the word “dinosaur” isn’t in the Bible. The simple answer to this is the word “dinosaur” wasn’t invented until 1841, several hundred years after the Bible had been translated into English. The words they had used for thousands of years to describe what we call today dinosaurs, were words like “lizard,” “reptile,” “serpent,” and “dragon.”

After reading Job 40 you can see how it would be describing what we would call a dinosaur.

This is just one of our amazing points we like to talk about as we take you through the dinosaur exhibits. Please join us on a tour as we also dive into the science of Carbon-14 dating, the T-Rex soft tissue that was found in 2005 and so much more!
