Science

By Ben LaCorte

Did you know that in the old days science used to be the quest for knowledge in general, including philosophy and knowledge of the great beyond.  In fact the Latin word for knowledge is Scientia and that’s where we get our word for science.

Well… the meaning of the word has changed over the centuries.  Today, scientists say that it’s only the study of the physical world, what’s inside the universe.  Otherwise known as, Nature!  Now, that leaves out a lot of knowledge that goes beyond nature – but it’s ok we’ll roll with it for now.

Here’s the glitch, some scientists say that science proves there’s no God.  What’s wrong with that picture?  The bible tells us that God created the universe.  Well he had to be standing outside of it in order to create it right?  Sound logical?  You can’t start from inside a house that’s not there.  Now if God built the universe from the outside, which He did, then how can the study of what’s inside prove that there’s nothing on the outside.

If science is just about the natural, then how can it be used to disprove God who’s supernatural?  Sounds like some scientists are operating without much knowledge.  Here’s the real deal:  as the bible says… in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  So the next time someone says that science proves there’s nothing outside the heavens and the earth, you ask him when was the last time he looked.
