Teach Them In The Way They Should Go

By Ben LaCorte, Creation Tours

Never before in our nation’s history has a Biblical upbringing been more important than it is today! We saw the sexual revolution spawn in the sixties and seventies (yes, I was there and yes I remember it)! Then we slumbered through the eighties and nineties as it colonized in the dark corners of society. We hoped the ooze of cultural sin would remain in the crawl spaces. As long as we remained faithful, our living areas would go uninvaded.

Now, a quarter century into the new millennium, we see our castle walls being scaled, our inner courts threatened. The water is rising and we’ve noticed. Indeed, we’ve been placed onnotice. Still, we’re the Church, and our future is (as it has always been) in the hands of our Creator. We rest securely in the knowledge that He will never leave us or forsake us. We’re assured: “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.”

Yes and Amen!

Yet we hope to guard our children against the rising tides at least into adulthood and then into parenthood and beyond. Thankfully, we derive hope from Proverbs 22:6, “Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

CREATION TOURS was started three years ago to do exactly that.

We’re here to help Christ-following moms and dads train up their loved ones in the Truth. We do this by taking parents and their youth on long walks through the worlds of science and history. These are two worlds upon which our Lord’s fingerprints are indelibly and undeniably etched. Unfortunately, they are also worlds where His imprint is being obscured through the corrosive effects of revisionism, naturalism and skepticism. Creation Tours girds our loved ones with the BELT of TRUTH, inoculating our youth against falsehoods that lull and lure.

And, by His grace, we’re able to do this ON THE WORLD’S HOME TURF!

YOU ARE THE WINGS OF THIS MINISTRY:  We are the hands and feet. The families we serve are the heart. The God we serve is our Head. But our work takes flight on the wings of YOUR prayers and support. By God’s grace, your ministry has stunningly soared to heights so far neither foreseen nor imagined. This update describes some of those heights.

THEREFORE, ON BEHALF OF OUR FAMILIES AND OURSELVES, WE SAY “THANK YOU!”

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
    and favor is better than silver or gold.
The rich and the poor meet together;
    the Lord is the Maker of them all.
The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
    but the simple go on and suffer for it.
The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
    is riches and honor and life.[a]
Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked;
    whoever guards his soul will keep far from them.
Train up a child in the way he should go;
    even when he is old he will not depart from it.
The rich rules over the poor,
    and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity,
    and the rod of his fury will fail.
Whoever has a bountiful[b] eye will be blessed,
    for he shares his bread with the poor.
10 Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out,
    and quarreling and abuse will cease.
11 He who loves purity of heart,
    and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge,
    but he overthrows the words of the traitor.
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!
    I shall be killed in the streets!”
14 The mouth of forbidden[c] women is a deep pit;
    he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
    but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
16 Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth,
    or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.
